Mosaic offers a coffeehouse style environment where friends gather on Sunday morning, grab a cup of fresh-brewed coffee and catch up on the week's events. As the band begins to jam you are drawn into a fresh encounter with God through worship and praise of his Majesty. The experience is always casual and relaxed. The messages are modern, inspiring, and relevant to our day-to-day lives as we strive toward an intimate and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. What you get at Mosaic is authentic and real, without a lot of glitz and glamor.

The Dress Code

Seriously? At Mosaic you can wear your ripped up jeans, T-shirt and Converse, or dress up if you'd prefer. Just be yourself and feel free to come wearing whatever feels most comfortable to you. We believe that if you come dressed to feel comfortable you are more likely to enjoy the experience and you'll feel more free to be yourself and get to know others.

The People

Mosaic is filled with diverse individuals from different ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds. It is our desire to reflect the diversity of our surrounding Kentwood and Grand Rapids neighborhoods. We are still a small church with a vision to grow as a multi-cultural, multi-generational, multi-ethnic fellowship of Christ-followers. All people are welcome here!

The Atmosphere

From the outside you'd probably expect Mosaic to be a traditional church with pews and a pulpit, but don't let the exterior of our building fool you. Inside you will find a warm, inviting and modern coffeehouse vibe where people can feel at home hanging out. We've pulled out the old carpet, refinished the concrete floors, splashed contemporary color on the walls, and added cafe style tables and chairs. Help yourself to a cup of great coffee or tea when you arrive and get to know some nicest folks in town. We are passionate about ministry and about praising God, so we wanted to create an atmosphere that would be warm and comfortable. People who come to Mosaic seem to really like hanging out here, and we think you will too.

The Music

Just like our atmosphere suggests, the music at Mosaic is a lot like you'd expect to hear on a Saturday night at your favorite coffeehouse. Each week is a little different, but one thing is consistent – our musicians all have a heart for ministry and leading people into the presence of God through worship. Don't be surprised to hear a popular song from your favorite radio station once in a while at Mosaic. We know that everyone doesn't just listen to Christian music, and sometimes we can find inspiration in those tunes as well. Our goal is that maybe the next time you are jammin' to your favorite tunes on the radio you might just remember some teaching that connects you with God during your week.

The Teaching

Mosaic is a place that helps connect those who are spiritually exploring God’s love and truth. To do this, we're committed to help people connect God’s timeless truth from the Bible with day-to-day life. The teaching at Mosaic may incorporate drama, news references, video clips from popular movies or TV shows, and contemporary music to help people connect biblical truth to their real life. It’s nothing new. It’s the kind of thing the Bible referred to in Ecclesiastes 12:10, which says, "The teacher searched to find just the right words." In fact, it’s exactly what Jesus did. Whether it was stories about sheep and goats, vineyard workers, or a guy who throws a party, Jesus used the current language and daily life examples of those around him to communicate truth.

It's always helpful to have a Bible with you. If you have one you can bring along, please do. Otherwise we have Bibles available for you to borrow and use while you're here.
