Mosaic exists to be a multi-ethnic church living out Jesus’ kingdom values, bringing racial equity and gospel freedom to the city of Grand Rapids.
Racial Equity Team
Part of our mission statement is to bring racial equity to Grand Rapids. We see this as part of our obedience to the many commands in the Bible to bring justice to the oppressed, with systemic racism at the forefront of our country and city’s injustice issues. We don’t think these commands were just meant for the Old and New Testament cultures, they are also meant for us today
There are a lot of layers to this, but our Racial Equity Team leads the way to keep us on track toward this goal. The team leads the Mosaic Moment, a weekly part of our Sunday morning worship service where we help disciple our congregation toward understanding God’s desire for racial equity in our midst. The Racial Equity Team hosts all-church events to raise awareness and make change in our community. We are also a community of learners, doing book studies and other educational opportunities to grow deeper in our understanding of how to dismantle racism.
