Hope For Neighbors

The commandments…are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Love does no harm to a neighbor.

-Romans 13:9-10

Hope For Neighbors is a ministry of Mosaic Church that serves detained immigrants who often have no family nearby, no resources and no support system when facing detention or deportation. Our mission is simple and rooted in Christ’s call to Love our Neighbor: to show compassion, uphold dignity, and meet practical needs during an incredibly vulnerable time in their lives.

We are blessed to minister alongside many from outside of Mosaic to make this crucial impact a reality. Spread the word and please join us!

Hope For Neighbors started quite innocently when a retired Evangelical Covenant pastor, Dale Dalman, visited Fernando, a former member of his church, at North Lake Detention Center in Baldwin, Michigan. From that first visit to now, the grassroots work has extended and there are well over 250 volunteers serving in areas like: Visitation, Transportation, Prayer, Commissary, and Pen Pal letter writing.

Mosaic’s Pastor Noah Filipiak has been friends and colleagues with Pastor Dale within the ECC for many years. Mosaic is privileged to launch Hope for Neighbors with Pastor Dale.
